Karl M. Kapp, Ed.D., is a scholar, writer and expert on the convergence of learning, technology and business operations. He is a full-time professor of Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. where he teaches several gamification and game design classes and serves as the Director of Bloomsburg’s Institute for Interactive Technologies which works with government and private corporations to create interactive, online instruction with an emphasis on games and gamification for learning.
He has written seven books in the area of gamification and game-based learning including the bestselling learning book The Gamification of Learning and Instruction and its accompanying fieldbook. Karl is author of six video-based Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning) courses and consults with organizations helping them devise strategies around technology-based learning, game-based learning, gamification, mobile learning solutions, instructional design and learning technology strategy development.
