Through continuous training for every level of their organization with in-depth interactive training to rapidly accelerate the deployment of technology, SCTE•ISBE moves member companies forward by preparing the workforce of tomorrow and putting leaders in the conversations that matter.

Each year, the SCTE•ISBE Learning and Development Committee, made up of cable industry corporate learning leaders come together to create a dynamic program to share best practices, discuss changes that have impacted their training programs and create ways to evolve to stay ahead of the curve.

This year, the team led by Nancy Murphy, Executive Director, Learning and Workforce Capability at Cox Communications has come up with a solid program that brings together learning experts from in and outside of the industry to cover pandemic response, new practices, technology, the evolution of learning, what the future holds and lessons learned from COVID-19.

Keynote Address

The Keynote session will address how organizations have had to pivot from standard operating procedures to meet the needs of today’s world. The session will examine how learning historically has had to respond to such changes as new technology or products, business realignments, or a global crisis such as COVID-19. How have the rapid responses, new practices, and approaches gained by the change or crisis been integrated into learning methodologies and curricula? Based on what the world has experienced today, what does the future hold for learners, technology, processes, and cultures?

Evolution of Learning Panel

Wednesday, October 14

Following the Keynote presentation, learning leaders will engage in a panel discussion that will provide multiple perspectives on managing through change. Panelists will share insights on how learning has had to evolve with COVID-19 and other events, which transformations be short-lived, which will be lasting and what the future will hold. The immersive experience will include the ability for attendees to engage in chat conversation with fellow learners, and to ask questions of the panelists.

Imagine Zone: The Impact of Learning

What happens when learners implement the knowledge they’ve gained? In this session, business executives within the cable telecommunications industry will discuss how learning has impacted their company, focusing on organizational change. The conversation will look at various types of changes, including those resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, and what learning groups have done to support their organizations. These leaders will address the learning units’ benefits, what the future holds for learning, and how leaders like themselves can support the learning units.
