General Manager, HFC Engineering, NBN
Andrew is the General Manager for Cable Access Engineering at the National Broadband Network Australia. His role is to re-invigorate the two major existing cable networks in Australia to provide a wholesale broadband service that passes 3.1M homes and in doing so enable the digital economy and bridge the digital divide for 2.3M homes.
During his time in Cable Access Engineering, Andrew has managed a wide portfolio covering areas including equipment selection and integration, engineering standards, outside plant design, inside plant deployment and capacity management.
Andrew is a founding member of the Australian SCTE meeting group and was instrumental in bring SCTE to Australia.
Prior to working in Cable, Andrew has spent 20 years in the Telecommunications industry developing Fibre to the Home solutions, PSTN replacement solutions and wireless products.
He lives on a small country property with his wife, three kids, two horses and dog named Hunter. Andrew is a former competitive judo player who represented his country as a young man and is now a part time judo coach to a dozen 8 to 14year old kids.
