Business Savvy for Techies Panel Discussion
This panel will conduct a lively, interactive discussion of how professionals in technology roles must develop keen political and business savvy for their workplace. Often faced with overcoming awkward social and business skills, technology specialists need to become more effective in their jobs and to pursue advancement and recognition. With real-life examples, this panel will share insights from people who have successfully become politically savvy in their business environment. You'll hear what social and business skills are important for success and how to develop them. These accomplished "techies" will share examples of situations where poor business savvy not only creates uncomfortable situations but hinders advancement. Are there common awkward business "characteristics" of professionals in technology roles? Are there general misconceptions that need to be overcome? How does one address these? All of these questions will be scrutinized during this frank and fun panel discussion. |
