FAQs

I have sent in my contract. When will I receive confirmation of my booth assignment?
Contracts, completed and submitted with proper deposit, are assigned in date received order. Booths are generally assigned within 7-10 days of receipt. If the contract is incomplete or does not include the appropriate deposit, 50% prior to March 14 and/or total due after March 14, processing of the booth assignment will delayed until all info is received. Once a booth has been assigned, the exhibitor will receive an electronic confirmation of their booth number. The virtual floor plan is updated daily and is the best resource for checking availability and recent booth assignments. View the floor plan

Is it too late to contract booth space?
Exhibitor applications will be accepted up until show opening, or until the show floor has sold out. Space is assigned on a first come, first served basis; show management strongly recommends your company submit their application as soon as possible to ensure a preferred booth/location.

I have not sent in my contract because I need to know if the booth I want is available.
Contracts are received and processed daily; therefore, booth availability is constantly changing. The virtual floor plan includes the most current information for booth availability. However, SCTE does not guarantee that a booth shown as available on the virtual floor plan will remain available by the time your contract is executed. SCTE encourages you to make (6) six booth selections, preferably in different areas of the show floor, in choice order. SCTE will not hold space without a completed contract and proper payment.

When will exhibitor information, such as hotel, badges, be available?
Exhibitor information is included in the Exhibitor Forms package, available online at http://expo.scte.org/content/exhibitors/index.cfm. Additionally, you will receive your exhibitor login and password via e-mail so you can easily enter and manage your badges online.

When will convention center services (booth furnishings, electrical, phone, computer rental, cable drop, etc.) information be available?
These services are ordered via the Service Order Kit (SOK) provided by Freeman Decorating Company, the official general contractor for Cable-Tec Expo 2008. Contracted exhibitors will receive the SOK approximately eight to ten weeks prior to show opening.

Where is the main entrance to the exhibit hall?
For Cable-Tec Expo, there are three entrances into the exhibits area at Halls A, B, and C.  There is no "main entrance" and exhibits flow contiguously through the halls with no walls or barriers separating halls one from the next.

How many badges do I receive?
Your company is allotted 5 complimentary exhibitor badges for every 100 square feet of booth space, up to a maximum of 80. Exhibitor badges exceeding the allotment are charged $30 per badge. If your company is an SCTE sustaining member, you will also receive a minimum of two complimentary full registration badges, transferable within your company. Complimentary full registration badges must be accompanied by an exhibitor name badge. Full registration badges include the opening general session, workshops, exhibit hall, show bag, Expo Awards Luncheon, Expo Evening event, Tuesday tutorials, proceedings materials, International Cable-Tec Games, arrival and closing night receptions and the Supplier Diversity Connection. The complimentary badge policy is contingent upon the exhibiting company's adherence to the SCTE housing guidelines. Please refer to Badge Policies online or in the exhibitor forms package.

When do I receive my badges?
All badges are available for pick up on site in the Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center throughout expo show dates, June 24-27. Show management will not mail badges prior to show opening. Exhibitor badges should be picked up by the individual since identification may be required. Complimentary Full Conference badges must be picked up by the company's on site contact for distribution to personnel. Badge pickup is available beginning at noon on Monday, June 23.

What are exhibitor move-in dates and times?
Sunday, June 22 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Monday, June 23 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Tuesday, June 24 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesday, June 25 from 8-11 a.m. (touch up only)
Requests for earlier move in must be submitted in writing to show management. No targeted move-in.
All exhibits must be complete by 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25.

What is NOT permitted on the show floor?
No alcohol, lighter than air items (helium), animals, insects, reptiles, smoke, confetti, glitter, strolling entertainment, etc. Refer to the show's official rules and regulations for specific details.

I have requested a meeting room. When will it be assigned, how will I be notified, and how do I handle my catering and audio/visual needs?
Meeting space is assigned within 14 business days of receiving the request. Written confirmation will be sent to the contact noted on the original request. Onsite service providers will be copied on the confirmation and will contact you to review requirements (e.g. catering, set up, audio/visual, telephone/data lines). SCTE reserves the right to alter meeting room assignments in order to accommodate other groups based on meeting size, dates, times, etc.

How will I know where the seminars and workshops are located?
The Cable-Tec Expo Program/Booth Guide is available at registration and lists information regarding workshops and seminars, including room numbers, times and descriptions. In addition, directional signage is located in the corridors of the convention center. An information desk attendant is also available to offer additional assistance and will be located in the registration area in the Grand Hall.

Are shuttles available from the hotels to the convention center and to Cable-Tec Expo events? Where do I access these? How often do the shuttles run? How much does it cost?
Complimentary shuttle transportation is available to all official Cable-Tec Expo events. Shuttles run continuously, loading every 10 to 15 minutes per the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, June 24 from 10:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 25 from 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 26 from 7 a.m.-9:15 p.m.
  • Friday, June 27 from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.

Shuttle service is not available to the convention center from the Loews Philadelphia, Marriott Philadelphia and Hilton Garden Inn hotels due to their close proximity and being within walking distance. Round trip service will, however, be available from these properties to Expo Evening.
